About Me
Hi! My Name is Nyah Ariahna (Pronounced NI-uh AH-ri-on-NA)! I have been a passionate artist and storyteller since I was a child. With a love of reading and movie musicals since a young age, I could always be found either with my nose in a book or singing my little face off. Creatively expressing myself has always been something I wanted to do. My goal is to be a form of representation for BIPOC and disabled individuals.
I am a quirky, sassy, passionate, and LOUD individual to those who get to know me. While at times I may appear shy and socially awkward, it doesn’t hold back what I can bring to the table. I am unapologetically a nerd and am not afraid to show it. I enjoy foreign media and anything in the fantasy, mythology, or science fiction genres. My love for animation, fantasy, music, storytelling, and learning new things have led me on a journey of expression. Being able to bring life to worlds full of diverse characters and tell their stories is a passion of mine.
I was an avid reader and writer and would perform one-woman musicals around my house when I was a kid, my mirror being a constant audience member. It was not until I began my college career at the Community College of Rhode Island that I actually began my career in acting. Landing the role of Texas in Cabaret, with no formal singing or dancing training, was not only an honor but a great opportunity. It was then that I knew musical theatre was something I wanted to work more in. However, I did not limit myself during my time there, exploring other avenues of theatre. I participated in Detroit ‘67 as Chelle and helped devise an entire production while we were all quarantined in our homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I chose to continue my education in theatre in my home state of Rhode Island, at Rhode Island College, in their Musical Theatre Program. I got to participate in shows like 1776 (Charles Thomson) and learn about stage managing in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. I studied and learned from many exceptional individuals and graduated with a B.A. in Musical Theatre and Creative Writing, as well as a minor in Dance. Throughout my time there, I learned about other avenues in the world of acting that I am excited to partake in (film acting, playwriting, screenwriting, and voice acting).
Outside of acting, I love reading, writing, watching anime, cartoons, and Asian dramas, singing musicals and Kpop songs, learning Kpop choreography, conducting pop-culture research (an experience in academic research), collecting blind box trinkets and stickers, traveling, and posting on my social media.
